The sign in front of your church, or directing people to your church,
speaks loudly about your church. What does it say? Take a look. Is it
faded? Rusty? Bent? Are the words clear? Directions easily understood? Now
may be a good time to check out your sign and replace it if necessary.
Announcement!
Effective April
15, 2009 all Episcopal Church sign orders will require
pre-payment. Visa, MasterCard and American Express will be accepted. You
may also send in a check or money order payment with your sign order.
Also beginning April 15 we must begin charging a
standard shipping and handling fee of $40.00 for all domestic sign orders.
Additional charges may apply for any orders shipped outside of the
continental U.S.A.
While EBaR was able to absorb the cost of shipping and handling, current
economic conditions require us to at least pay for production costs.
Additionally, we have just received notification of a
price increase from the sign manufacturer. Increases range from $5.00 to
$15.00. We are happy to keep the increase at a minimum.
You are valued customers as well as people engaged in
the mission and ministry of creating a place of welcome in our Episcopal
Churches. And we know that it is our role to support you in your work by
making quality signs available to you while keeping prices as reasonable as
possible.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
contact Ann Hercules, Sales Associate (ahercules@episcopalchurch.org) or Bernice David, Director,
(bdavid@episcopalchurch.org).

Porcelain Enamel Signs Last for 30 Years
The porcelain coated steel signs available through EBaR combine the
hardness of glass with the strength and rigidity of steel. They are made to
last for 30 years.
The signs are unaffected by high temperatures or freezing weather.
Neither fresh nor salt water damages the signs. They resist surface damage
from scraping. Spray paint or markers can be wiped off the signs using an
appropriate solvent.
The letters and images of the signs are permanently fused to the metal
base and will not fade or peel. Porcelain enamel is non-porous so that the
signs cannot be stained by any medium.
The metal used to attach the sign to a pole or to each other should be
stainless steel. Rust from other types of metal can drain down over the
sign, discoloring it, even though the rust could be removed with a cleaning
fluid.
Before Ordering Your Signs
Select the exact
location where your signs will be placed.
Secure permission
from the property owner for the erection of the sign.
Make sure you have secured all the necessary permits from the local municipality.
Be sure that the
information you submit is accurate. If you use a directional arrow be
doubly sure it is pointing in the correct direction. We cannot give
credit for inaccurate copy if the error is yours. If the error is
ours, we will take full responsibility.
All hardware
provided is galvanized. When necessary, apply a coat of heavy black
enamel.
Use only stainless
steel fasteners for mounting your signs.
How to Assemble Your Sign
Purchase locally (from a lumberyard, hardware store or fence company) a 15-foot length of standard 2-inch steel pipe, and a finial to seal the open top from the rain.
Drill 3/8 inch holes, in parallel - one 6" from the top end, and a second 19" from the top end.
Mount the finial on the top end of the pipe, and fix firmly in place with a setscrew or otherwise.
Paint the entire pole with aluminum paint (available from a paint store).
Mount the bracket on the pole using the drilled holes.
Attach hanging sign to the bracket
How to Install the Pole
Plant the pole firmly in the ground to a depth of 30". The only
completely satisfactory method is to set the pole in concrete. The concrete
should be pyramid shaped (as shown), measuring 12" square at the top;
l8" square at the bottom; and 30" deep
A sign anchored in this way will
have a wind resistance of up to 100 mph.
